Announcing a Tweetup on PR – #PR2014

Indian PR Forum is excited to announce a tweet up to Discuss/Debate/Deliberate on how we can improve as PR professionals in 2014

WHEN: Saturday, 28th December 2013 between 4pm to 6pm

WHERE: Twitter.com or your Twitter app, using the hashtag #PR2014

WHO:

You, all members of Indian PR Forum and all other forums/groups dedicated to PR professionals on all social networks & offline, students and whoever is interested in knowing more about our profession.

WHAT

Conversations can be based on the following (more suggestions are always welcome)

  • Improving the image of PR as a respected profession
  • Best practices that make us better PR professionals
  • Responsibility of a PR professional towards the external society
  • Things that we will do in 2014 as a responsible PR Practitioner
  • Will Digital be more prominent than social media, how will we reorient ourselves?
  • Defend our profession in case any attack from non PR practitioners
  • Any other agenda can be discussed and included

WHY:

Ever since PR was introduced to the world, PR professionals have been battling against the depiction of PR people as spin-doctors, promulgators of hyperbole and obfuscation, and pitch spam artists. Through this tweet up session we will all join the battle of PR professional getting the respect and honour PR practitioners deserve.

We would like to invite you to share the knowledge and experience you have gained through the years with the entire PR fraternity. We are sure that your experiences will not only help fresher’s and youngsters but practitioners across all levels, who will be able to relate to it and benefit from the words of wisdom in 140 characters.

If you can spare sometime to contribute towards the industry, do join the tweet-up and let’s make it trend so that the world takes the notice of the power of PR fraternity.

Now to the HOW part…

During a tweet-up, everyone joining the conversation should use the hash tag #PR2014 and express their views as stated above. Reply and engage in a conversation if you agree or disagree with any opinions of any tweeple. Don’t indulge in or use abusive or insulting language and defend what you are expressing using your PR skills you have learned over the years.

You can even ask a question – think of it as a town hall of PR, where you can talk, chat, ask and discuss on the profession you are proud to be a part of.

Just make sure you include #PR2014 in each of your tweets during the conversation so that we everyone can see your tweets. We don’t want to miss you! Also, you may want to take a moment and follow like-minded professional to connect with them for life to take the conversation forever— it’s always great to grow your network with like-minded individuals.

All you need to know are three simple steps:

1. Go to http://www.Twitter.com.

2. Log in to your Twitter account (or sign up for an account if it’s your first time)

3. Type #PR2014 in the search bar at the top.

How can you help to make the event successful?

Spread the message in your own network and keep the buzz on throughout the week by tweeting with same hashtag #PR2014 and generate as much as awareness as you can. Request to many PR Groups and Forum moderators to support the initiative for your profession, it is not an event organized by Indian PR Forum but by PR practitioners for PR practitioners. Please help to create as much buzz amongst PR professionals before the event.

We will publish the list of registered users on IPRF and our blogs before the event along with your name, designation, company and twitter handle, so people know who all are participating and directly interact with them through their twitter handles.
